Sea Bass on Magbite Mimiq Squid

Magbite Mimiq Squid

How do I catch big seabass with Magbite Mimiq Lure. Here I am going to show you the sensational result of this interesting thingy.

Bad weather, choppy water, waves are slapping the beach.. Perfect time for catching sea bass from the beach! The weather is bad but sea temperature is still warm. There are lots of little fishes around, trying to avoid the chaos at the shore as they know very well that predators are on duty!
This is one of the biggest sea bass I caught on MAGBITE MIMIQ
I grabbed my favorite little pencil lure for such weather and sea conditions; MIMIQ, a  squid-like sinking pencil lure by made MAGBITE.

It's not a heavy lure and you can't cast it to long distances but you don't need it anyway, especially for sea bass. Just let it swing among the waves and retrieve it slowly or make it irregular jumps on surface. Just imagine; there is a stupid and scared baby squid hanging around senselessly :)

This very effectively exciting lure is described as "Squid-like silhouette and unweighted solid body produce impressive lifelikeness and natural appeal in the water. Slow-sinking design provides great handling even for the squid hunter aiming for surface waters. Or, let it sink down and work its magic on the target" by it's Japanese makers.

DUO Hydra - The Biggest Best Topwater Lure

Topwater fanatics embraced this DUO's new Hydra as the new surface phenom. It's a big lure. A very, very big lure for big catches. obviously.
As soon as you open the box you will feel that DUO Hydra is absolutely magical. Shape, weight, look all perfectly attractive. Then you will adore it even more once you start casting. Amazing casting distance, easy control both in the air and on the surface. You will learn to use it quickly. It's not a lure for professional topwater fishing only.

Hydra will make you get really excited. Even when there are no fishes around to chase it :)
I used Hydra Red Head for my first caught. It is a 2.5 kg Skipjack Tuna, from the shore.

Here my Astro Red Head Hydra. It looks beautiful and wild, doesn't it?

Puffer Fish Attack Chiquita Bambino

A gang of merciless puffer fish attack Halcyon System Chiquita Bambino lure.
This on the beach where the water meets shore. Only about 10 cm deep.
Here in south of Turkey (Eastern Mediterranean) puffer fish are a big problem for both local marine life and fishermen (both professional and amateur anglers)
puffer fish attack and halcyon system lures
They came from Indian Ocean via Suez Canal.
They attack almost everything that they can bite. The biggest lures or the smallest LRF baits, all their favourite food. Because of these nasty species people are giving up fishing. They  will destroy all your gear, from the hooks to the most expensive lines and lures or live baits.

As you see in this photo, they are chasing a decent size Chiquita Bambino which I use for all kind of beach predators ( sea bass, travally, needlefish, breams etc) and attacking it even without I move it.

Sargo on Lucky Craft B'freeze 48s Long Bill

I've fallen in love with this little beauty when I saw in first time on a Japanese amateur fishing blog. B'freeze comes with a long bill or short bill. And in 65cm or 48cm. Both are amazing lures. They are like little naughty kids making all the adults chasing them to catch and spank.

I purchased this 48s Long Bill Green Head Chart from a second hand lures seller from Japan on Ebay. I couldn't wait to test it. Finally it was delivered in a very, very windy and cold Mediterranean morning. And got in my car as soon as I opened the box and I drove to a tiny beach where pebbles and small stones cover the bottom with a bit of grass.  I had caught lots of different species of fish at this beach before but never used this type of lure for breams and sargo.

Wind was blowing from the north. I couldn't get a sheltered calm place so I decided to cast over to short distance. B'freeze Long Bill is not a heavy lure but easy to cast if you have a LRF rod. I first tried around a rock which has the biggest body in the water. A few little painted combers tried to jump on it but I avoided them. Then I tried the murky part of the beach and bam! This big boy was on it! A big beautiful Sargo. I love this fish! They are absolutely merciless when they find an attractive bait or lure.

Then I caught two more sargos with Lucky Craft B'freeze Long Bill. It started to get dark and I returned home. Since that terribly cold ( which is a very rare condition around here) and murky waters day, this exciting creature become one of my favourite lures in my tackle box.

Birmingham Bullring Makes People Look Little

The Bullring in Birmingham

When you walk around The Bullring in Birmingham, you will look so small. Like these people.  Because of the shape and size of the building, even very tall people still look so small. The Bullring is a must see place in United Kingdom. And interesting architecture.
