Is Fishing a Sport or a Hobby?

Image
Is Fishing one of your Hobbies or Sportive Activities? Fishing can be both a sport and a hobby, depending on the individual's approach and motivations. For some people, fishing is primarily a sport, with the objective being to catch as many fish as possible or to catch the biggest fish. These individuals may participate in fishing tournaments, use specialised equipment, and apply different techniques and strategies to improve their chances of success. For others, fishing is primarily a hobby, a leisure activity done for pleasure and relaxation. They may enjoy being out on the water, taking in the scenery, and spending time with friends or family. They may also appreciate the challenge of catching fish, but not necessarily with the same level of competitiveness as those who view fishing as a sport. Overall, whether fishing is considered a sport or hobby depends on the individual's perspective and goals. As My Name Is Fish, I sometimes fish for fun as a hobby and sometimes I see ...

Wincle Brewery - The Best Beer After Catching Trout

Image
Drink Wincle Beer Before and After Trout  Fishing in Cheshire, England Last February my friend Thomas from Manchester has sent me a selfie of himself with a huge brown trout and a fly rod. He didn't tell me where he was when I asked the location. He replied " why don't you come over here and we catch even bigger ones together?" I texted him back; "I am coming!" It took 12 months to make it. I finally managed to get to Manchester and visit my friend. As soon as I saw him at the car park of the airport,    I said " Let's go! Take me to trouts!", even without saying Hello :) Next day after a nice breakfast we went to Macclesfield first, picked another friend from there and only 15 minutes later we arrived in an amazing place. A small village, called Wincle. I was mesmerised by the beauty of the nature. One of the most gorgeous places I have ever been in my life. Absolutely stunning. We parked the car near an old bridge on River Dane.  "Follow...

The Best Fluorescent Spinner For Trout, Bass, Perch, Pike, Chub, Zander

Image
If you are wondering what spinner to have for fishing in deep rivers, winter streams, lakes and canals in cloudy weather or murky times, this is the one you must have in your tackle box. Rivers and Canals in Europe are full of perch, pike, chub, trout, mullet and salmon to catch any time of the year. But you can't use the same colour and type of spinners for all seasons. You need a proper fluo bait to attract those predators in darker, murky and super cold waters. Lakes and rivers in the United States and Canada are not much different. They have more trout and bass though and such species love fluorescent spinners in autumn, winter and spring fishing seasons. So What Fluo Spinner Is The Best For You? Spinner is an interesting type of lure.. It looks simple but actually it's one of the most complicated bait systems. That's why I avoid those cheap Chinese or unknown ones. Even though they might look identically the same, believe me they won't work as you dream at all. Lik...

Whitby Fishing Charters And Privet Fishing Trips

Image
Is Whitby the best place for fishing in the North East coast of Britain? I saw a lot of fishing charter boats in Whitby harbour. It was a beautiful sunny day and all of them were at the sea when I was walking around. Later I witnessed some of their return to harbour with lots, lots of fish and happily smiling anglers.  Then I talked to some locals about fishing in Whitby and the other smaller villages around. It seems Whitby fishing charters are one of the best in the UK if you are into fishing in the North Sea and having a wonderful day out on the boat. I saw these boat sings at the harbour. There are some really good and well known  privet fishing trips for larger groups and families, too.  This boat is offering 3 hours fishing trip in Whitby. You can go night fishing as well. Is Okuma Safina Pro SNP 3000 A Good Spinning Reel?

Image
SNP 3000 Okuma Safina Pro Fishing Reel Review I have been a heavy casting and jigging enthusiast for over 20 years. In 2013 when I first tried Light Rock Fishing properly, I fell in love with everything about it. Since then I started to change my entire fishing gear collection. Now I own more LRF stuff than all those guys who introduced me to this crazy addiction. I was looking for a new super lightweight spinning reel for my canal fishing in England adventures. But it has to be perfect for catch and release fun in saltwater as well, because I travel to Mediterranean countries so often and I love fishing there. So I decided to have a quick look at some cheap reels but I didn't feel that passion to be honest. And I made a sharp u return to Okuma and Daiwa reels, which always make me come back to them. The Best Urban Fishing Reel? I have got several Okuma fishing reels but never used a Safina Pro before. I have heard that it's really good stuff and it's becoming a "mus...
